SARAH ELSIE INTERDISCIPLINARY ARTIST • THERAPEUTIC ART INNOVATOR • RITUALIST FOUNDER, FERAL MOTHER STUDIO Sarah Elsie is an interdisciplinary artist and therapeutic art innovator working at the intersection of art, touch, ritual, and the body. With more than two decades of independent artistic practice and over twelve years of professional therapeutic bodywork, her multidisciplinary work explores embodiment, sovereignty, grief, intimacy, power, and the human need to be deeply tended to. A licensed massage therapist for more than twelve years, Sarah brings thousands of hours of direct work with the human body to an approach shaped by technical skill, artistic inquiry, ritual, grief work, and the social study of bodies and culture. She holds a BA in Arts & Humanities and completed graduate-level study in Sociology with a focus on women’s and children’s health. Her background also includes more than 100 hours of formal death and life doula training and five years of practice in that field. Sarah’s visual and therapeutic work belongs to the same larger body of inquiry. Across painting, material, space, symbolism, sensory composition, ritual, and human touch, she approaches the body as subject, archive, and living medium. Her work returns repeatedly to the female form, mythology, grief, sovereignty, power, intimacy, and the cultural forces that shape our relationships with our bodies. Through Feral Mother Studio, Sarah has developed Philosophy at the Altar of the Body, rejecting standardized, high-volume models of care in favor of highly individualized encounters built around skilled hands, time, sensory intelligence, relational presence, and personal agency. Her signature works include The Return: Deep Immersion Bodywork, The Embodied Oracle™, and The Crossroads™ (formerly The Grief Massage™), offered through select retreats and destination commissions. As a commissioned visiting practitioner, Sarah temporarily establishes the Feral Mother treatment environment within a host space and accepts only two private sessions per day. For retreat facilitators and cultural collaborators, her work offers something distinct from the conventional wellness amenity: an established artist and practitioner whose work becomes part of the architecture of the experience itself. Cancellation Policy
Cancellation Policy
Appointments are scheduled intentionally and held with care. All appointments are booked in advance, and availability is intentionally limited. Late cancellations or no-shows leave significant blocks of reserved time that cannot reliably be filled on short notice.
A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
All deposits are non-refundable and are applied toward the total cost of the scheduled service.
With at least 48 hours’ notice, an appointment may be rescheduled once, and the original deposit will transfer to the new appointment. Any additional rescheduling will require a new deposit, and the original deposit will be forfeited.
Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice will be charged 80% of the remaining appointment balance, in addition to forfeiture of the deposit.
Same-day cancellations and missed appointments will be charged 100% of the remaining appointment balance.
